In September 2019 I joined Moz as VP Product.
Distilled
In May 2008, I joined Distilled - the digital marketing consultancy - as an SEO Consultant. In 2010 I moved from London to Seattle, to establish and lead our new American office. Since then, I held the roles of VP Operations, COO, and VP Seattle.
If you're looking for someone to help with the organic search marketing, content strategy, or digital marketing for your organisation, give them a shout.
Broadcasting
Before internet marketing, I worked in the radio industry, for a national digital spoken word station - Oneword Radio - from 2005-2008. As Production Coordinator I produced, presented and edited a variety of programmes, as well as managing the station's online properties.
In 2005, I also launched my own podcast, featuring music from independent labels and unsigned artists.
Prior to commercial radio, I was the Station Manager for the student radio station at the University of Cambridge. My work on developing an integrated online player (the first of it's kind in UK broadcating) was recognized with a Student Radio Award for 'Best Technical Achievement'.
Engineering
Way before all that, I spent a little over a year in a research group at Shell. As a member of the Scientific Support Team, I analysed petrol ('gas' to my US friends) to make sure it was as awesome as possible. It was the first place that I learnt how to improve processes and make everyone happy.
My work here to improve the speed of testing & analysis was recognized with a 'Contribution to Business' award from the Engineering Development Trust.
Education
From 2002 - 2005 I studied at Cambridge University (Clare College). My degree was 2:1, with a Part I in Engineering and Part II in Management Studies. No one has ever asked to see the certificate.
